Event Description:

Welcome to the After-School Cooking Clubs. These are really classes but students can move around. These extravaganzas, where students learn to connect cooking with math, science, language arts and social studies. Next, our young cooking enthusiasts showcase their problem-solving prowess, critical thinking skills and creativity. This event is designed to celebrate the joy of mathematics, foster healthy group interactions, and recognize the incredible talents of students.

Key Event Highlights:

  1. Talented Instructors: Participants can learn from talented instructors who are foodies who share their skills and knowledge of ingredients, equipment and diverse cultures ensuring the pallette is challenged and an enjoyable experience for all.
  2. Exploration of Concepts: From basic knowledge to more advanced topics, students will explore a wide range of cooking concepts.
  3. Real-World Applications: We show how cooking is used in everyday life, helping students connect theory to practical situations.
  4. Problem-Solving Skills: After-School Cooking Clubs focus on developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for success in the kitchen, classroom and beyond!
  5. Small Class Sizes: Our small class sizes ensure personalized attention and support from experienced instructors.

Schedule:

  • 2:45 PM – 2:55 PM: Registration and Check-in
  • 3:00 PM – 3:05 PM: Introduction to session’s activities
  • 3:05 PM – 3:15 PM: Recipe Demo, group staging to complete recipe
  • 3:15 PM – 3:45 PM: Hands on, recipes should be cooking
  • 3:45 PM – 4:00 PM: Serving and Clean-Up
  • 4:01 PM – Out the Door, students are escorted out

What to Bring:

  • Long hair is to be tied back
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Optional: Snacks and Water Bottle
  • Willingness to engage in food that may not be family norms
  • Enthusiasm and a Love for FOOD!
